America’s Got Talent slipped to season lows in the same-day ratings on Tuesday, but the NBC series is so far ahead of its competition that the small decline didn’t matter. It still finished first in primetime in both adults 18-49 and total viewers and led NBC to its sixth straight ratings victory on the night.
AGT posted a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.34 million viewers, down from 1.3 and 8.72 million last week and hitting season lows in both categories. World of Dance followed with steady numbers, averaging 0.8 in the 18-49 demographic and 4.2 million viewers.
Just two other original shows aired on the English-language networks Tuesday. The finale of The Genetic Detective on ABC drew a 0.3 in adults 18-49 and 2.35 million viewers, even in the demo and up slightly in total viewers from last week. The CW’s Stargirl was likewise even in the demo at 0.2 and up a small amount in viewers at 1.01 million. A stand-up special featuring comic Barry Brewer drew 367,000 viewers and a 0.1 in the demo for The CW. CBS and Fox aired reruns all evening.
NBC averaged a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 in primetime, more than doubling the 0.5 for second-place Univision. CBS and Fox tied for third at 0.4, and ABC and Telemundo also tied at 0.3. The CW came in at 0.1.
