Taylor Swift is the most nominated artist at the 2015 American Music Awards. The singer is up for six awards, including artist of the year. The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran are one nom behind with five each, while others like Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj and Meghan Trainor scored four chances at a trophy.
The nominees were partially revealed by Joe Jonas and Charlie Puth Tuesday morning on Good Morning America, followed by a Snapchat announcement of more nominees. ABC will air the AMAs, which Jennifer Lopez hosts for the first time, live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Nov. 22.

Swift, who has 16 career AMAs to her name (three of which are artist of the year honors), is a sweep away from eclipsing Whitney Houston as the AMAs‘ most decorated artist. That’s if she wins all six of her categories, which include favorite album for 2014’s multi-platinum smash 1989 and song of the year for “Blank Space.”
Indeed, it’s the song category that looks to be especially competitive this year as radio favorites like Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth‘s “See You Again,” “Uptown Funk!” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” face off.
Other nominated artists include newcomers Sam Hunt, Walk the Moon and Fetty Wap.
AMAs nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.
The American Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, a sister company of The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard. Allen Shapiro and Mike Mahan are executive producers. Larry Klein, Barry Adelman and Mark Bracco are producers. The winners are voted on entirely by fans.
Voting is open at AMAvote.com.
