Amazon pilot The Wilds has found the first four people to strand on a remote island.
The YA drama about a group of teenage girls forced to survive far from their homes has cast Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards and Shannon Berry in series regular roles, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Wilds, from writer Sarah Streicher (Daredevil), follows a group of very different teenage girls who are stranded on an island, unaware they’re part of an “elaborate social experiment.” ABC Signature and Amazon Studios are co-producing the show, which landed a pilot order in June.
Newcomer Healey will play Shelby, a God-fearing pageant champion from Texas who projects confidence in order to mask her insecurities. Howard (Madeline’s Madeline) is Nora, an enigmatic introvert who will be forced to connect with her fellow castaways.

Edwards (Snowfall, The Bold and the Beautiful) will play Rachel, an Olympic-caliber diver who desperately wants to get off the island and resume her athletic career. Berry (Hunters) rounds out the quartet as Dot, a coolheaded country girl with a thick skin.
The Wilds is one of three YA pilots Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke ordered in late June, a couple months after joining the company from NBC. The others are College, about six roommates navigating university life, and Panic, about a cutthroat competition among high-school seniors in a rural town. The latter is based on a novel by Lauren Oliver.
“Right now, one of the white spaces…is this sophisticated YA space,” Salke told THR in June. “I have Phoebe Zimmer and Nick Hall diving into that. We picked up two things and perhaps a third one in that space by young female writers that feel very addictive and sophisticated that have a young adult audience that’s an older audience as well.”
Streicher is executive producing The Wilds with Jamie Tarses and Dylan Clark.
