American Idol easily topped Sunday’s broadcast ratings — and it was the only show on the networks to make it above a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49.
The ABC singing competition drew a 1.2 in the 18-49 demographic, off a tick from the previous week but comfortably ahead of everything else on broadcast on Easter Sunday. The two shows flanking Idol, an America’s Funniest Home Videos rerun and Shark Tank, tied for second in the demo at 0.8.
CBS’ 60 Minutes gathered the biggest total audience on the broadcast nets Sunday, although its 8.31 million viewers, along with a 0.7 18-49 rating, were off from 8.72 million and 0.9 a week ago. The season finale of Madam Secretary slipped to a season low in viewers (4.83 million) and tied its low in adults 18-49 at 0.4. In between, the special Motown 60: A Grammy Celebration drew a 0.6 in adults 18-49 and 6.87 million viewers.
NBC’s World of Dance held at 0.7 in adults 18-49 for the fourth straight week. Good Girls declined slightly to 0.5. The CW’s Supergirl (0.3) and Charmed (0.2) returned from a couple weeks off to steady 18-49 numbers. Fox aired reruns all evening.
ABC led the 18-49 demo in all four hours of broadcast primetime en route to a 1.0 average for the night. CBS and NBC tied for second at 0.6, and Fox’s repeat lineup averaged 0.5. Telemundo was next at 0.4, followed by Univision, 0.3, and The CW, 0.2.
