The Americans‘ final season is starting to take shape.
Gilmore Girls grad Scott Cohen is set to recur on season six of the FX spy drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Cohen will play Glenn Haskard, a member of a State Department negotiating team that Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) is starting to covertly work against.
Best known for his role as Max Medina on the beloved Amy Sherman-Palladino family drama, Cohen’s other credits include another spy drama, NBC’s Allegiance, Necessary Roughness, NYPD Blue and Love & Other Drugs. He is repped by Gersh, One Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
The acclaimed spy drama has been plotting the endgame for some time now, having been renewed for its last two seasons back in May 2016.
In June at the ATX Festival, series creators and showrunners Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields previewed an “action-packed and emotion-packed” final 10-episode run.
“There are a lot of pieces hanging out there, a lot of stories, … but also a lot of threads of who these people are and sort of how their lives are going to end up,” Weisberg said at the time. “We’ve got 10 episodes … to pull that all together, and we think it’s going to be, there’s going to be a lot happening both in the story world and the emotional world.”
Season six is expected to premiere sometime in 2018.
