Next up for Amy Sedaris: Raising Hope.
The Strangers With Candy star, who recently booked a guest spot on Royal Pains, will exercise her comedic chops on the Fox sitcom, Raising Hope star Garret Dillahunt told The Hollywood Reporter at AFI Fest on Saturday.
“Amy Sedaris is coming in December to do the show,” he said, breaking the news to THR (and his wife) that his character Burt makes out with her.
He also discussed Jason Lee‘s stint.
“He’s my rock ‘n’ roll hero, my rock god. He had one hit. He comes back in town 20 years later, and I finally get my chance to play with him, but you should never meet your heroes,” Dillahunt said, adding that you’re always “disappointed” because they “can never live up to what you built them up to be.” (Lee starred in Raising Hope creator Greg Garcia‘s NBC comedy My Name Is Earl.)
Dillahunt has his eye on Dexter and Boardwalk Empire as TV shows he’d like to appear in, but there’s another he wants to try out.
“I’d say [Starz’s] Spartacus, but I don’t want to have to wear a loincloth. I’d be pale and hairy. Who knew Spartacus shaved down so much, right?” Dillahunt said with a laugh.
Was he surprised by Raising Hope‘s full-season order?
“Not really. I think it’s a really good show. In this climate, there’s no telling what’s going to happen, but I thought it deserved it. I’m happy about it. And I don’t die in it,” Dillahunt joked.
