Fox’s Dead Boss has added a funnywoman to the ensemble.
Amy Sedaris has joined the half-hour, single-camera comedy pilot starring Jane Krakowski, which Fox is eyeing toward series production, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Additionally, Awkward‘s Jessica Lu has boarded NBC’s Salvation pilot with Ashley Judd.
Based on the British series created by Sharon Horgan and Holly Walsh, Dead Boss is a comedic mystery that finds overachiever Helen Stephens (Krakowski) wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence.

Sedaris will play Mary, one of Helen’s nosy, fault-finding co-workers and the gatekeeper to their boss. She secretly loves the man and openly hates Helen.
Suburgatory‘s Patricia Breen will write and executive produce along with Aaron Kaplan, Horgan and Walsh on the Warner Bros. Television-Kapital Entertainment production. Sedaris joins a cast that already includes Cedric Yarbrough, Justine Lupe and Ravi Patel.
Sedaris is repped by Paradigm. Best known for Strangers With Candy, Sedaris has starred in Alpha House and The Heart, She Holler, with stints on The Good Wife, Raising Hope, 30 Rock, Rescue Me, Monk and Sex and the City; she next appears in Chef.
Lu, meanwhile, has been cast as mean girl/cheerleader Hayley Stern on the Universal TV production Salvation, from executive producer Liz Heldens. She is repped by Innovative Artists and Luber Roklin.
