An Angry Birds show is coming to a TV — or computer — near you.
The CEO of Rovio, the Finnish company behind the popular app (that has been downloaded more than 50 million times), has confirmed a series is in the works.
But Mikael Hed declined to say if it would air on TV or online, or both.
“We have been looking at [a show[ for quite a while, and that is definitely one of my personal big focus areas right now — to work on broadcast content for Angry Birds,” He’d told British TV industry site C21media.net (via the New York Post).
A marketing deal was announced for the app last year.
“It was a completely new area for us; we had to get our bearings there, and a sense of how the whole market was,” Hed told C21.
“That was the first part of the exercise, and now that we’ve done that, the next part is to move into production, and that’s where we are right now,” he added.
