Colton Haynes is ready to make his Arrow entrance.
The Teen Wolf alum will arrive in Starling City on Wednesday and play a pickpocket named Roy Harper who naturally mixes things up with Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) kid sister, Thea (Willa Holland).
STORY: ‘Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Arrow’ Renewed by the CW
In the “Dodger” episode — featuring James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) as the jewel thief — Thea has her purse stolen while working with Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and eventually comes face-to-face with Roy, in the above and below images exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter.
Roy is further described as a handsome, street-savvy teen from the Glades, the poverty-stricken area of Starling City, who winds up being the object of affection for Thea, despite her own misgivings and those of her family. The character is “destined” to become a significant part of her life and an important player in the drama from Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg’s world.
In the DC Comics on which the series is based, Roy Harper is Green Arrow’s teen sidekick known as Speedy, who first appears alongside the hooded hero in 1941’s More Fun Comics #73. More recently, the character was a member of the Teen Titans known as Arsenal and, ultimately, a member of the Justice League of America, where he was known as Red Arrow.
STORY: Has ‘Arrow’ Found its Speedy in ‘Teen Wolf’s’ Colton Haynes?
The pairing with Thea could bring the rookie series’ Speedy tally to two, should Roy ultimately prove to be the Arrow’s right-hand man. Haynes will first appear in the Feb. 20 episode, entitled “Dodger.”
Check out the photos and hit the comments with your thoughts. Do you think Roy is a good fit for Thea? Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
