Arrow has cast Felicity’s ex.
The CW comic book drama has landed Awkward and Glee alum Nolan Funk in a season-three guest spot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Funk will appear in episode five, “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” playing Cooper Seldon, Felicity’s hacker boyfriend from her days at MIT. It is unclear whether he will be appearing in flashbacks or in the present day.
Funk is the latest addition, joining new characters including the Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Wildcat/Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), Felicity’s mother (Charlotte Ross), Maseo (Karl Yune), Katana (Rila Fukushima), a new Count Vertigo (Peter Stormare) and Mark Shaw/Manhunter (David Cubitt). Arrow also will introduce Ra’s al Ghul as the season’s main villain.
Funk’s casting was first teased by castmember Emily Bett Rickards on Twitter early Thursday afternoon.
Funk is repped by Independent Talent Group, KC Talent and Authentic Talent and Literary Management. On Glee, he recurred as Dalton Warbler captain Hunter and on Awkward, co-starred as Jenna’s love interest Collin.
Arrow returns Oct. 8 on The CW.
