The Avengers 2 doesn’t hit theaters until 2015, but in just under a month, Disney XD will roll out Marvel’s Avengers Assemble.
While reuniting Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow, the kids network’s upcoming animated series will also welcome a new member to the team, Falcon.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively debuts a first-look clip from the July 7 launch, which offers a preview of Falcon in action. In the episode “Ghost of a Chance,” Falcon is faced with the daunting task of saving his team and stopping an invasion of Earth after the Avengers fall victim to the body-swapping Space Phantoms.
With Falcon thrust into the action almost immediately (“I may be having first-day jitters, but that’s not Cap!”), he is nearly pummeled by a possessed Black Widow, making his journey to save the Avengers nearly impossible. When things start to look grim for Falcon, a non-possessed member of the Avengers swoops in to save the day. Who comes to Falcon’s aid?
Adrian Pasdar (Iron Man), Fred Tatasciore (Hulk), Roger Craig Smith (Captain America), Travis Willingham (Thor), Troy Baker (Hawkeye), Bumper Robinson (Falcon) and Laura Bailey (Black Widow) provide the voices.
A one-hour preview of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble aired May 26 at 11 a.m., with a sneak peek of the premiere episode slated for June 28 at 9 p.m. during Disney Channel’s Gravity Falls.
Disney XD’s Marvel’s Avengers Assemble debuts July 7 at 11 a.m.
