Aziz Ansari on Tuesday announced a new stand-up tour, his first extended tour since a controversial Babe.net story accused the comedian and actor of sexual misconduct earlier this year.
“New tour dates for 2019. On sale this week. Click here for cities. See ya on the road ding dongs,” the Master of None star tweeted before linking to his website.
The “Road to Nowhere” tour will hit Medford, Massachusetts; Mashantucket, Connecticut; Calgary, Alberta; Vancouver, British Columbia; Denver; Los Angeles; San Diego; Chicago; Minneapolis; Pittburgh; Columbus, Ohio; Portland, Oregon; Oakland, California; San Francisco; Seattle; Salt Lake City; Phoenix; Reno, Nevada; Las Vegas; Memphis, Tennessee; Atlanta; Hollywood, Florida; Buffalo, New York; Windsor, Ontario; Grand Rapids, Michigan; St. Louis; and Kansas City, Missouri (in that order).
Shortly after Babe.net published an anonymous woman’s alleged account of an awkward sexual encounter with Ansari in January, the comic confirmed some details in the story and apologized.
Ansari said that the woman texted him a day after the encounter saying she felt uncomfortable. “I was surprised and concerned. I took her words to heart and responded privately after taking the time to process what she had said,” he said in a statement. “I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue.”
Since the publication of the story, Ansari has been toured venues in locations including Richmond, Va., Toronto, Ontario, Durham, N.C., and Orlando, Flo.
