‘Bachelorette’ Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum Get Married

The odds weren’t in their favor, but Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and her beau J.P. Rosenbaum proved their critics wrong: The lovebirds got married Saturday, marking only the second time in the franchise’s 10-year history that a couple who got engaged on the ABC reality dating show have made their way down the aisle.

In a ceremony in Pasadena, officiated by Bachelor/Bachelorette host Chris Harrison, Hebert and Rosenbaum exchanged their vows in front of 200 friends, family members and Bachelor family. Familiar faces in the crowd, which fans of the show can watch during a two-hour ABC special on Sunday, Dec. 16, included past Bachelorettes Emily Maynard, Ali Fedotowsky and Jillian Harris and upcoming Bachelor Sean Lowe, who finished filming his season last month.

Hebert walked down a wood-planked aisle to a piano processional of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” where, according to E! News, she met her groom under a chuppah, a traditional Jewish wedding canopy.

Hebert’s bridesmaids wore light pink, according to one witness who stayed at their Pasadena hotel, and included Ashley Spivey, who became fast friends with Hebert as they vied for Brad Womack‘s heart on season 15 of the Bachelor. (The show’s producers strategically split them up on a two-on-one date, and while Womack inevitably sent Spivey home first without a rose, the Ashleys, who both live in the New York City area, have remained close.)

Hebert left Womack’s season broken-hearted as the second runner-up, but the dental student eventually found love with Rosenbaum, a construction manager from Long Island. Rosenbaum proposed on the show in 2011, and the couple now live together in Princeton, N.J., between Hebert’s pediatric dental residency in Pennsylvania and Rosenbaum’s construction gig in NYC.

The two-hour ABC special, The Bachelorette: Ashley and J.P.’s Wedding, will follow the couple as they prepare for the big day with dress fittings, bachelorette and bachelor parties and every other detail that went into their big day.

The only other official wedding in the franchise history belongs to the first Bachelorette, Trista Rehn, who married Ryan Sutter in 2003. Their trip to the altar also was broadcast, in a three-episode special called Trista & Ryan’s Wedding. No other proposals on the Bachelor have made it all the way to a wedding certificate, but Jason and Molly Mesnick, who became engaged after Jason ended his on-air engagement with Melissa Rycroft, got married in 2010 and are expecting a baby in March.
