[Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Monday night’s The Bachelorette finale.]
Desiree Hartsock has handed out her final rose on ABC’s The Bachelorette.
The 27-year-old bridal stylist, who lives in Los Angeles, had narrowed her original group of 25 suitors down to three: mortgage broker Chris Siegfried, 27, from McMinnville, Ore.; digital marketing analyst Drew Kenney, 27, from Scottsdale, Ariz.; and sales and marketing professional Brooks Forester, 28, from Salt Lake City.

In last week’s episode, Brooks broke up with her, leaving Desiree in tears and threatening to leave the show during filming in Antigua. On Monday night’s season finale, she was still emotional over Brooks’ departure but chose to see things through to the end. During the finale, host Chris Harrison quizzed a live audience, asking if anyone thought Brooks might return before all was said and done. Despite what some viewers (and perhaps Desiree) had been hoping for, he didn’t.
Meanwhile, there were still two men left. She soon sent Drew home, telling him she couldn’t “see our futures together.” And while on her date with Chris, she admitted she had feelings for him but wanted to see if he was the man she could see herself spending her life with. For his part, Chris picked out a ring and planned to propose.
“Chris is the man I could love my entire life, but Chris doesn’t know how I felt about Brooks, and he deserves to know everything,” Desiree said in voice-over before the final reveal.
“I will be shocked if something got in the way of the relationship that Des and I have built,” Chris said in his own voice-over.
So what happened?
Chris told he wants to “spend the rest of my life with you” — and began to get down on one knee before Desiree stopped him. Would she break up with him as well and end up alone?
“I have a few things to say, too. … I do want to explain to you where my heart has been this entire journey, and where it is today,” she said, revealing to him that she had sent Drew home earlier in the week and that Chris was the only suitor who had met her family.

She also admitted she was “torn apart by Brooks’ leaving” and that she “loved him.”
“I feel like, I hate it, but at the same time, I feel like I was blindsided by my feelings for Brooks that I couldn’t see that the one thing I always needed was right in front of me,” she told him through, yep, more tears. “You’ve been by my side from the very beginning.”
She later added: “I love you so much.”
He then actually did get down on one knee and propose, and Desiree said … yes.
Cue the music swells and montage — and then Desiree presented him with her “final rose.”
“Will you grow old with me forever?” she asked Chris, who replied: “I will.”
During the After the Final Rose special, Desiree revealed that she is moving to Seattle — this coming weekend — to live with Chris.
