NBC’s Michael J. Fox Show is staging a Back to the Future reunion.
Christopher Lloyd, who played bumbling genius Dr. Emmett Brown in the three Universal features, has booked a visit to his former co-star’s freshman comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Lloyd will guest-star as the eccentric principal at the high school where Annie (Betsy Brandt) teaches and will go toe-to-toe with Mike (Michael J. Fox). The role currently is set for just one episode.
Scheduled to air in spring 2014, Lloyd’s guest stint reunites him with the actor who famously played Marty McFly in Back to the Future and its two sequels. Fox teased Lloyd’s cameo on Twitter; they begin filming the episode this week on set in New York.
Lloyd, who most recently guest-starred on Psych and Raising Hope, is repped by Gersh and Andrew J. Freedman.
He joins previously announced guest stars Brooke Shields, Anne Heche and Sting, among others, in booking roles on The Michael J. Fox Show. The series airs Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
