TV production giant Banijay Group, whose labels include Keeping Up With the Kardashians producer Bunim/Murray, has appointed former Warner Bros. vp Peter Langenberg as COO, reporting to CEO Marco Bassetti.
At Warners, Langenberg was in charge of business management for the international TV properties. He previously held various positions at Endemol, including head of operations for Latin America and head of entertainment for the Netherlands.
Langenberg will oversee the group’s activities in the U.K., the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, India and Russia and will split his time between Paris and London.
The current Banijay Group took shape in February when it finalized a merger with Zodiak Media to create the world’s largest independent TV production company. Vivendi owns a 26.2 percent stake in the group.
“I believe that Banijay, certainly after the recent merger with Zodiak, is just at the beginning of taking advantage of growth opportunities and I am looking forward to fostering synergies within the group, contributing to further expansion and being part of this exciting journey,” said Langenberg.
Through a variety of shingles across 17 territories, Banijay produces unscripted and drama shows as varied as reality hits including the Kardashians, Temptation Island and Wife Swap and dramas Versailles, Wolf Hall and Being Human.
