Beth Roberts has been promoted to COO of Universal Cable Productions and executive vice president of business affairs at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios, it was announced Wednesday.
Roberts will directly report to Bonnie Hammer, chairman of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios.
In her new position, she will assume operational responsibilities for the strategic and financial growth of UCP, in addition to overseeing business affairs for USA Network, Syfy, E!, G4, Sleuth, Chiller, Universal HD, UCP and E!’s production studios. (Hammer told THR that E! would be undergoing a “brand audit.”)
“As a business affairs executive, Beth has always struck a perfect balance between strategic vision and fiscal discipline,” said Hammer in a statement. “That’s exactly what we need to take UCP to the next level, so Beth’s new role is an ideal expansion of her responsibilities.”
Roberts previously served as evp of business affairs of Cable Entertainment and UCP, directing the activities of the business affairs divisions of USA, Syfy, Bravo, Oxygen and UCP.
UCP is responsible for most of USA’s shows, including Psych, In Plain Sight, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Royal Pains, Covert Affairs and upcoming series Suits, along with Syfy’s Warehouse 13 and Alphas.
