The Big C co-star John Benjamin Hickey has lined up his follow-up gig.
The actor has been tapped to star in the CW’s drama pilot Blink, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
STORY: TV Pilots 2013: The Complete Guide
The drama revolves around the Trask family, whose lives are forever changed when patriarch Greg has a car crash resulting in a coma-like syndrome in which he cannot speak or move but can see and hear all. Narration and fantasy sequences emanating from his mind provide context and a wry counterpoint to the stories and conflicts of the family and his own situation.
Hickey, who recently co-starred in Pitch Perfect, will play Greg. Mr. Popper’s Penguins’ Madeline Carroll will play his daughter and frequent visitor, Ari, with Perks of Being a Wallflower‘s Johnny Simmons and House‘s Michael Weston co-starring.

Awkward‘s Vera Herbert will pen the pilot and executive produce the CBS Television Studios entry alongside Brothers & Sisters‘ David Marshall Grant and Timberman-Beverly Productions’ Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.
Hickey co-stars on Showtime’s The Big C, which will end its run in April with four hourlong episodes. In addition, he’s also earned a Tony win for his starring role in the Broadway performance of The Normal Heart. Repped by Paradigm and the Schiff Co., Hickey also has appeared in The New Normal, The Good Wife and Mob Doctor.
