Big Mouth is keeping a smile on its Netflix face.
The streaming giant has handed out a third-season renewal for the adult animated comedy from creator and star Nick Kroll.
Season three is set to debut in 2019 and will again consist of 10 episodes.
Big Mouth hails from best friends Kroll (The League) and Andrew Goldberg (Family Guy), who created and executive produce the comedy alongside screenwriters and directors Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett (Nim’s Island). Kroll also voices several characters, along with such comedians and actors as John Mulaney, Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate and Jessi Klein, among others.
Netflix produces the series, which remains a critical favorite. It has a rare 100 percent rating for each of its first two seasons. (Netflix, like other streamers, does not release viewership information.)
Big Mouth centers on a group of teens going through puberty and is one of a number of adult animated series to find success at Netflix. It joins a growing roster of adult animated series at the streamer that also includes BoJack Horseman, Paradise PD, F Is for Family, Hoops and Disenchantment. In fact, Netflix has had such success in the adult animation space that the streamer is launching its own animation studio, which will help eliminate costs affiliated with outsourcing the physical animation to third-party companies like Bento Box (which handles animation for series including Paradise PD and Hoops).
A premiere date for season three of Big Mouth has not yet been determined.
