Bill Carter will launch a weekly interview program on SiriusXM. Launching later this summer, The Bill Carter Interview will be broadcast Mondays at 6 p.m. and will have the former New York Times reporter and author interviewing pop culture figures as well as newsmakers of the moment.
The program will air on SiriusXM’s Insight channel 121. It will include a call-in feature.
Carter covered television for the Times for 25 years. Along the way, he penned several books that offered a fly-on–the-wall view of the entertainment industry, including the best-selling The Late Shift, about the rancorous Tonight Show transition from Johnny Carson to Jay Leno. He is a contributor at The Hollywood Reporter and was recently named a contributor at CNN.

“The thing I have enjoyed most in my career as a journalist has been the opportunity to talk to fascinating, funny, and news-making people,” said Carter in a statement, adding that the show will feature “performers, writers, producers, and executives who are shaping the culture today.”
Added SiriusXM president and CCO Scott Greenstein: “Few journalists have acquired instant name recognition the way Bill Carter has, for both his best-selling books revealing the behind-the-curtain stories of modern television and for his news-making ability as a New York Times journalist. On his own SiriusXM show, Bill will put to work his virtually unmatched list of contacts and friends to score interviews with both the power brokers and influencers behind the scenes, as well as the biggest names in pop culture, media, and the world today.”
