A Riverside, Calif., woman is suing Bill Cosby for sexual battery and infliction of emotional distress in what might be the first legal attack against the comedian for sexual assault since 2005, when Andrea Constand claimed Cosby drugged and raped her. Constand’s lawsuit was settled out of court in 2006 for an undisclosed amount, but it set in motion a recent series of similar claims from the 13 women lined up to testify on her behalf, plus several others who claim Cosby assaulted them at various times since 1965.
Judy Huth filed a lawsuit with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, claiming the comedian sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in 1974, when she was 15 years old.
The suit suggests the statute of limitations normally applied to assault claims should be waived for Huth, since she discovered “her psychological injuries and illnesses were caused by the sexual abuse perpetrated by Cosby” only within the past three years.

Huth claims in the suit that she and a 16-year-old girlfriend met Cosby in 1974 at a film set at a park in San Marino, where Cosby allegedly engaged the girls in a conversation and invited them to his tennis club the following weekend. The following Saturday, the suit says Cosby met the girls at the club and invited them to his house, where he served them several beers while they played billiards. According to the lawsuit, Huth had to drink a beer whenever Cosby won a game.
After the girls had consumed “multiple alcoholic beverages,” the suit alleges Cosby led the girls to the Playboy Mansion, where Huth found Cosby waiting for her on a bed after she went to the bathroom. Cosby reportedly asked Huth to sit beside him and “proceeded to sexually molest her by attempting to put his hand down her pants, and then taking her hand in his hand and performing a sex act on himself without her consent.”
Because of Huth’s “age and innocence” at the time, the suit requests and punitive and exemplary damages.
Cosby has not addressed any of the allegations, though he has canceled several tour dates in the face of mounting public criticism. His reps and attorneys have denied previous allegations against him.
Cosby’s rep did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
