Wheel of Fortune Bob Cisneros - P 2013
Bob Cisneros has been promoted to director of Wheel of Fortune, just the third person to hold the position in the 31-year history of the top-rated syndicated game show.
Cisneros joined the Sony Pictures Television show as stage manager in 1987 while on staff at CBS Television. He later moved to the control room before being promoted to associate director.
Cisneros succeeds Mark Corwin, who died in July after directing more than 2,000 episodes of the show since 1999. Corwin had taken over when Dick Carson, the younger brother of legendary Tonight Show host Johnny Carson, retired.
“Bob has been an extremely valuable member of the Wheel family for more than 25 years,” executive producer Harry Friedman said Tuesday in a statement. “We are so pleased to continue our tradition of promoting from within and delighted to see Bob in the director’s chair.”

Cisneros started his career in the mailroom at CBS Television City and soon became a production supervisor, responsible for such shows as The Young and the Restless, The Price Is Right, The Bold and the Beautiful and Press Your Luck as well as coverage of the annual Rose Parade.
As staff stage manager, he also worked on Family Feud, High Rollers, The New Gong Show, NBA and NFL games, numerous pilots and specials and, of course, Wheel of Fortune.
Wheel of Fortune, hosted by Pat Sajak and distributed domestically by CBS Television Distribution and internationally by CBS Studios International, draws more than 30 million viewers a week.
