Renegade 83 has acquired One Louder and tapped the company’s Bob Kusbit to oversee development for the company behind the Naked and Afraid franchise.
Kusbit will take on the role of head of development for Renegade and will oversee reality projects, manage internal development and focus on developing programming for broadcast, cable and syndication for the company.
Renegade 83 — an Entertainment One company run by CEOs David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe — was launched in 1994 and also produces Naked and Afraid: XL, Fit to Fat to Fit, 4400, The Kennedy Detail and Blind Date.
“We’re very excited that Bob and One Louder have joined the Renegade 83 and eOne family. Bob’s wide-ranging broadcast experience, sharp instincts and his knack for putting shows together will help keep our incredible momentum going as we prepare for future growth and a world-class lineup,” Garfinkle and Renfroe said in a joint statement.
Earlier in his career, Kusbit created Total Request Live and served as president of Maury Povich’s production company as well as MTV senior vp production and head of development at CMT.
“When I first met David and Jay, it was clear to me that they were both hit makers and just terrific guys, and we’ve had a great time working together for many years now,” said Kusbit. “When the opportunity came to work with them full time and bring One Louder with me to Renegade, I jumped at it. I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.”
