Boris Kodjoe is heading to ABC.
The Real Husbands of Hollywood and Undercovers alum has joined ABC’s 13-episode drama series The Club, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
From Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich), The Club is described as a an upstairs-downstairs soap centered on a private country club. Kodjoe will play Deacon Harris, a former Hall of Fame football player who is persuaded to join the country club. He joins a cast that already includes Breaking Bad‘s Betsy Brandt, Callie Hernandez and Chris Conroy.

ABC picked up The Club straight to series. David O. Russell was previously attached to co-write and exec produce, but the American Hustle writer-director departed the series in February.
Grant will pen the script and executive produce the CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios entry, with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly also on board as EPs.
Kodjoe’s casting comes two weeks after he landed a gig on the new season of CBS’ Unforgettable. He toplined NBC’s shortlived spy drama Undercovers and starred in Showtime’s Soul Food, UPN’s Second Time Around and BET’s satirical Real Husbands of Hollywood. Other credits include features Baggage Claim, the Resident Evil franchise, Surrogates and Madea’s Family Reunion. He is repped by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment.
