Aaron Paul is going out on a high note as his charity campaign to win a trip to the finale screening of Breaking Bad races toward the finish line. And if all goes according to plan, there may be an additional two lucky winners
Paul has been raising money for his wife Lauren Parsekian‘s anti-bullying non-profit, The Kind Campaign, with people who donate through Omaze.com entered in a chance to win a trip for two to Sunday’s screening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Paul has taken to Twitter to appeal for funds, and is currently live-tweeting alongside AMC’s marathon of Breaking Bad. He’s hoping to reach $1.5 million.
The contest ends at 9 p.m. PST Wednesday, and has exceeded the expectations of Paul and the organizers, who last week told The Hollywood Reporter it was tracking to reach $750,000. But Paul tweeted Wednesday night that the contest has raised $1.43 million. If $1.5 million is raised, he will add an additional second place winner, who will get trip for two to the finale screening. The grand prize winner and a guest will get picked up personally by Paul at LAX and accompany him and Cranston in the show’s famed RV to the finale. Ten third place winners will get signed hazmat suits and gas masks.
“I don’t know what else we can do to make that night more incredible for us. Maybe I can be the godfather of your children or possibly travel back in time to save Jane’s life,” Paul said in a video appeal to donors. “I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly grateful I am.”
Paul’s Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston also used Omaze to raise money for a trip to the show’s premiere, and raised $303,000 for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
