LONDON – Crime & Investigation Network, the true crime channel from A+E Networks U.K., a joint venture between A+E Networks and satellite broadcaster BSkyB, has commissioned a brand new show A Town and Country Murder and a fourth series of Crimes That Shook Britain.
A Town and Country Murder – to be known internationally as A Very British Murder – is billed as a hard-hitting eight-part series produced by Flame Television, part of the Avalon Factual Group.
It will explore some of the darkest and perplexing murder stories in British history including murders in rural areas of the country.
Crime & Investigation Network has ordered eight 60 minute episodes of A Town and Country Murder and six hour long episodes of Crimes That Shook Britain for its channel.
Both series will air on the Crime & Investigation Network next year.
Koulla Anastasi, head of acquisitions and commissioning, Crime & Investigation Network and BIO at A+E Network U.K.said: “Both programs offer viewers an informative and detailed insight into some of the most harrowing murders to have taken place in the U.K. Both series expose the dark side of Britain’s criminal landscape and the far-reaching and profound impact these have on the population.”
In the U.K., Crime & Investigation Network launched in July 2006 having first launched in Australia on FOXTEL in 2005.
It is now available in 98 territories, reaching over 39 million households.
