Britt Lower is returning to Hulu.
The Casual alum has joined the streamer’s upcoming Seth Rogen-Evan Goldberg comedy Future Man for a multi-episode arc, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Future Man centers on Josh Futterman (The Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson), a janitor by day and world-ranked gamer by night who is tasked with preventing the extinction of humans after mysterious visitors from the future declare him to be the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion.
Lower will play Jeri, a co-worker who Josh has been crushing on from afar for years. She’s smart and beautiful, but it’s only when Josh works up the courage to talk to her that he realizes she’s also a bit of a weirdo, with an oddball sense of humor that might match perfectly with his own.
Eliza Coupe (Happy Endings), Derek Wilson (Preacher), Ed Begley Jr. (Best in Show) and Glenne Headly (Don Jon) also star in the half-hour. Lower joins other guest stars that include Haley Joel Osment and Keith David.
Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir serve as creators and writers. They exec produce with Matt Tolmach, James Weaver, showrunner Ben Karlin and Rogen and Goldberg, who are also directing the first three episodes.
Sony Pictures Television is producing Future Man, which is in production in Los Angeles.
In addition to her recurring role on Casual, Lower’s credits include Man Seeking Woman, Unforgettable and recent SXSW audience award winner Mr. Roosevelt. She is repped by UTA and Kirsten Ames Management.
