Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine is inviting the family to Thanksgiving.
The Dan Goor comedy has enlisted Jimmy Smits to guest star in its upcoming holiday episode, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Smits will play Amy’s (Melissa Fumero) father, Mr. Santiago. The character is described as a no-nonsense retired cop who loves his daughter very much and whom Jake (Andy Samberg) will do anything to impress.
The Thanksgiving episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is slated to air Tuesday, Nov. 22. Smits is currently set to appear in one episode, though like other guests to the Fox comedy, they remain in the universe and are always welcome back.
Smits, who previously played a cop on NYPD Blue, will next be seen in Fox’s 24 revival, 24: Legacy, where he plays a powerful U.S. senator who is married to the former head of CTU (Miranda Otto). 24: Legacy premieres Feb. 5 following the Super Bowl.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine next has its fourth annual Halloween Heist episode set to air Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
