A Buffy the Vampire Slayer favorite is heading to Hester High.
Nicholas Brendon, who starred as Xander on the Joss Whedon cult favorite, has boarded MTV’s Faking It, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The comedy stars Rita Volk and Katie Stevens as best friends Amy and Karma, who fake being a lesbian couple to climb up the social ranks at a Texas high school.
Brendon will guest-star as Jackson Lee, a professional artist and Hester High alum who is interviewing art students for a prestigious fellowship. Talented yet jaded and sarcastic, he challenges Liam’s (Gregg Sulkin) ideas about art but ultimately becomes an unlikely mentor. He will appear in the season-two finale, though he has the potential to return should Faking It earn a likely third season.
Brendon starred as the sarcastic Xander Harris for all seven seasons of Buffy. He most recently appeared in the film Coherence and recurs as FBI technical analyst Kevin Lynch on CBS’ Criminal Minds. He’s repped by Webster Talent Management and Margrit Polak Management.
Brendon becomes the latest addition to Faking It‘s second season. Yvette Monreal and Keith Powers booked recurring roles, and Orange Is the New Black Emmy-nominee Laverne Cox will guest-star on the Oct. 14 episode. Fifth Harmony also will cameo in the Oct. 28 installment.
Faking It‘s second season, featuring a groundbreaking intersex storyline, airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. on MTV.
