The Carrie Diaries creator Amy B. Harris is going back to the ‘80s.
The prolific producer has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Under the pact, Harris will develop new projects for network, cable and streaming services as well as serve as exec producer and showrunner on ABC’s upcoming anthology drama Wicked City.

In addition to creating The CW’s Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, Harris’ résumé also includes the groundbreaking HBO comedy Sex and the City and, more recently, The Comeback‘s revival.
Wicked City, which will take over Tuesdays at 10 p.m. starting Oct. 27, is a character-driven, true-crime procedural anthology that explores sex, politics and popular culture across various noteworthy eras in Los Angeles history. Season one focuses on two LA cops in search for a Bonnie & Clyde-esque serial killing team amid the rock-and-roll, coke-infused revelry of the 1980s Sunset Strip. Ed Westwick, Erika Christensen and Taissa Farmiga star.
The deal brings Harris back to the ‘80s after her two-season run on Carrie Diaries, which was set in the same era.
With the ABC Studios deal, Harris moves over from Warner Bros. Television, which is coming off of a rough upfront.
