Based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, the series revolves around a young Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) as she comes of age in the 1980s, asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.
Harris, who recently starred in the National Tour of West Side Story and on Broadway in James Lapine’s Sondheim on Sondheim, will play Seth, a sweet and nerdy but cute Princeton freshman who dates Carrie’s pal Mouse (Ellen Wong) and is learning to balance his sex life with the demands of school.
Carrie Diaries marks Harris’ primetime TV debut. He’s repped by APA and Regarding Entertainment.
Carrie Diaries, from writer Amy Harris and exec producers Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein and Bushnell, premieres Mondays at 9 p.m. in January on the CW, following the end of Gossip Girl. Check out a new promo, below.
