ABC is taking another stab at family legal drama Fina Ludlow.
The network has handed out a script commitment for the untitled drama based on Ingrid Thoft‘s book series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Initially developed last season with Clifton Campbell (The Glades, Sleepy Hollow) attached, the new take is being penned by Alexi Hawley (Castle). The untitled legal investigator drama centers on an unconventional investigator working at her family’s high-powered law firm — where the family dynamic is as charged as the series.
Hawley — currently the co-showrunner on ABC’s Castle — will pen the script and exec produce alongside the Mark Gordon Co.’s Gordon and Nick Pepper. Ilene Staple will also exec produce the drama after ABC Studios acquired the rights to the books.
Haley, whose credits include The Following, State of Affairs and Body of Proof, is repped by CAA, Shuman Co. and Hansen Jacobson. Staple is with CAA.
