Jill Tarlov, the wife of CBS Television Stations’ senior vice president of finance Michael Wittman, was involved in a tragic accident in New York on Thursday afternoon, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
An NYPD spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that a woman was critically injured after being struck by a bicycle in Central Park, but could not release her name.
The New York Post previously reported that Tarlov was the woman struck and a CBS Television Stations spokesman confirmed that information on Friday.
New York Police Department officials said Tarlov, 59, was struck by a cyclist on a crosswalk in Central Park. She was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was declared brain dead, The Post’s sources said.
Eyewitness accounts relayed by the The Post suggested the cyclist, Jason Marshall, was traveling at high speed and attempted to warn Tarlov before the collision.
New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center did not immediately respond to a requests for comment.
Wittman is a 37-year CBS veteran.
CBS Television Stations president Peter Dunn said of the incident, “We are shocked and saddened by the horrible and senseless tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jill, Mike and their family.”
