The network famous for its stability and scant scheduling fluctuations again rolled out a familiar lineup Wednesday morning. The last of the Big Four broadcast networks to firm up plans for the fall, CBS made very few moves — notably giving The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon a lead-in from its parent series.
“We are, as always, very bullish about the network television business and bullish about CBS,” said CBS Corp. topper Leslie Moonves, touting the network’s latest season to finish as the most-watched. “No offense to [former NBC topper] Warren Littlefield, but we are must-see TV.”
There are six new series entering the schedule, peppered across the week. The most auspicious, Young Sheldon, will bow in the Thursday 8:30 p.m. slot after Thursday Night Football moves from CBS to NBC in October. Prior to that, the Young Sheldon pilot will get a sampling on the first night of the season (Monday, Sept. 25) after the season premiere of The Big Bang Theory.
