$#*! My Dad Says duo Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger will write and executive produce the untitled Lawrence project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Lawrence will star in the multicamera pilot about a widowed father of two teens who, after losing his construction job, opts to enroll at the police academy in an effort to become a cop at the ripe old age of 46.
The comedy hails from CBS Television Studios, with Michael Green and Sam Maydew from The Collective on board to executive produce the project.
The Lawrence project is the latest CBS effort for Lisbe and Reger, whose David Hornsby freshman comedy How to Be a Gentleman was pulled from the schedule this season after airing only a handful of episodes.
Should the Lawrence pilot be picked up, it would mark the comic actor’s return to series television after fronting Fox’s Martin from 1992-97. His recent big-screen credits include Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, Death at a Funeral, College Road Trip and WIld Hogs.
