Extant is on the move.
The Halle Berry sci-fi drama is moving up an hour to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, CBS announced Thursday.
The sophomore series will switch timeslots with repeats of Criminal Minds and now air immediately following Big Brother, which has been pulling in solid ratings.
After an underwhelming first season, Extant underwent a major creative overhaul ahead of season two. The drama got rid of several series regulars, including Goran Visnjic and Camryn Manheim, and added Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a new love interest for Berry’s character.
Behind the scenes, the show brought in two new showrunners, husband-and-wife team Craig Shapiro and Liz Kruger.
So far, the creative changes haven’t sparked a ratings reversal for the show. The season two premiere opened to a series low 0.7 rating among adults 18-49. The most recent episode drew a 0.6 rating on July 15, while Big Brother grabbed an impressive 2.0 rating.
