Aaron Kaplan is having quite the pilot season.
The producer has just landed his leading fifth pilot pickup of the season, with CBS handing out an order to single-camera comedy Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices.
From writer Matt Tarses, a Scrubs and Mad Love alum, the comedy centers on a woman who has made some interesting choices throughout her life — namely, having three different kids with three different men, but all have led her to having a very unique, loving, blended family.

Choices landed at CBS in October with a script commitment. The comedy is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios. Tarses will exec produce alongside Kaplan and Kapital Entertainment’s Dana Honor. Wendi Trilling and Fiona Clark also exec produce.
This is Kaplan’s fifth comedy pilot order of the season and third at CBS. It joins ABC’s Charlie Foxtrot, CBS’ 9J, 9K, and 9L and Me, Myself and I as well as Fox’s Linda From HR. Choices is Tarses‘ second pilot order of the season and joins ABC’s Zach Braff starrer Start Up, which is produced by Sony TV.
Choices is also CBS’ second co-production with its sibling studio and Sony TV (joining Real Life).
For CBS, this is the network’s fourth comedy pilot order of the season. Last season, the network ordered eight comedies. Still to be determined is the fate of Big Bang Theory prequel spinoff Sheldon, which sources say is heating up for an official order.
