NBC’s Undercovers reached a series low in the 18-49 demo, but CBS was the most-watched network with a boost from a Criminal Minds repeat.
Undercovers drew only 4.22 million viewers (1.1, down 15% versus the Dec. 1 telecast which makes it a series low). The network, in burn-off mode, will continue to air the remaining episodes of J.J. Abrams‘ domesticated spy drama during the holiday season. Law & Order: SVU repeats followed (5.8 million, 1.5).
CBS’ Criminal Minds (6.9 million, 1.5) was the most-watched program of the night, and the rest of its lineup didn’t let up. The special 12th Annual A Home for the Holidays (3.9 million, 0.7) was down 36% compared to last year and The Defenders, which will be moving to Fridays next year for a brief period, was solid (5.6 million, 1.1).
The network beat out ABC’s comedy block rehash: The Middle (6.1 million, 1.5), Better With You (5.1 million, 1.5) and Modern Family (6 million, 2.0), which was also the night’s top-rated program of the night in the 18-49 demo. The network aired a 90-minute repeat of CMA Country Christmas (4.25 million, 1.1) at 9:30 p.m.
Fox aired new episodes of Human Target (5.8 million, 1.4) and the Million Dollar Drop (4.8 million, 1.6) game show. The network won the night among adults 18-49.
The CW aired back-to-back repeats of freshman series Hellcats (1.3 million, 0.6).
