[Warning: This story contains spoilers from the season finale of CBS’ Celebrity Big Brother.]
It was finale night for season two of CBS’ Celebrity Big Brother on Wednesday.
The final five — Tamar Braxton, Dina Lohan, Ricky Williams, Lolo Jones and Kandi Burruss — competed against each other in the hope of making it to the final two. First up, Burruss was voted out of the game by Williams in a move that stunned the show’s live audience.
Of her time in the house, Burruss’ highlight was reconnecting with former rival Braxton.
Next, the remaining four famous houseguests competed in a final competition that saw Williams holding all the power and making the decision to evict Lohan and Jones from the game.
It was the second play of the night where the former NFL running back shocked viewers, but this time they were standing behind his move. With Williams evicting Lohan and Jones, that meant fan-favorite Braxton was one step closer to winning the game.
In facing off against Williams in their pleas to the jury, made up of their fellow houseguests, it was the super-fan in Braxton that made her the real MVP of the night.
Said Braxton, “I am a huge fan of this show. I played the game to the best of my ability.” And then in a more emotional plea about joining the series, she said, “I lost my job publicly in front of everybody. I lost my husband … and I almost lost my life.”
This led to the jury voting unanimously for her to win the game. And Braxton’s win made history for the show as she became the first African-American houseguest to take home the winning title and grand prize.
