Charlie Sheen is currently off network TV, but that may not be the case for long.
A Fox spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Sheen, who was recently fired from CBS’ Two and a Half Men, met with Fox’s Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment; David Hill, president of Fox Sports; and Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment for Fox Networks Group last Thursday.
TMZ, which first reported the news, said they discussed various projects, including a late-night show.
The actor cryptically Tweeted about the network over the weekend. “Perhaps a new lair…..? A Fox and a Warlock? epic. ybw,” he wrote under a TwitPic of the Fox logo. “YBW” is Sheen’s acronym for “you’ve been warned.”
Meanwhile, RadarOnline.com is reporting CBS president Les Moonves wants Sheen to return to the network — going as far as to reach out to showrunner Chuck Lorre to say he’d manage Sheen.
“Moonves wants to get the show back on the air. He’s all for it,” the insider told RadarOnline. “He says certain people need to forget anything and everything Charlie’s done recently and just move on with the business at hand.”
“The core issue is, as he put it, the volatile relationship between Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre. He believes that if CBS and Warner Bros. TV honchos can find a way to get Chuck and Charlie to speak again, cooler heads will prevail.”
CBS had no comment to THR.
A leading agent, however, has a standing wager that Sheen will return to Men this fall.
