As rumors continue to swirl that Charlie Sheen could return to CBS’ Two and a Half Men, the actor is taking meetings — including one with Mark Cuban, the billionaire owner of HDNet.
Cuban tells Access Hollywood that he and Sheen are in talks about the possibility of the actor getting a reality series.
“What we do with Charlie will be interesting to see,” Cuban told Billy Bush Monday. “We’re going to meet, today actually, and talk some more about what those opportunities are. You know, Charlie’s a smart guy and I don’t think he’s getting nearly as much credit as he deserves for just how much he’s manipulating the media and those around him to his benefit and I think that would make a good reality show. So, we’re going to talk some more. Nothing’s finalized but we’re going to talk some more.
For now, HDNet is toying whether to be involved in the actor’s upcoming “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour.
“We can tape and broadcast his tour, we can broadcast that live into theaters,” says Cuban. “We could do a movie. We could put it on DVD on Magnolia,” Mark said. “That’s where my mind is turning and going. That’s where my mind is going but at the end of the day, it’s going to be Charlie’s call. We haven’t made any final commitments.”
Meanwhile, sources at Fox are saying that Sheen has met with FOX Sports president David Hill, FOX entertainment chairman Peter Rice and President of Alternative Entertainment for FOX, Mike Darnell about possible projects, including a late-night show.
Sheen, who was fired earlier this month from Men, is “smart, he knows exactly what he’s doing,” says Cuban. “I think he gets juiced telling all these people telling him what he’s doing… Charlie’s got a vision. Charlie knows how he’s going to execute on his vision. And as long as he doesn’t have some people around him giving and him taking some bad advice, then he’s going to continue to be in great shape.”
