Jerry Harris on Thursday was charged with seven additional counts of sex crimes involving minors.
The Cheer star was charged in September federally with producing child pornography. On Friday, an indictment made public by attorneys for two of Harris’ alleged victims, cited by the Chicago Sun-Times, stated Harris was charged with seven counts of child pornography and sex crimes involving multiple victims that alleges misconduct in Illinois, Florida and Texas.
The 21-year-old star of the Netflix series was originally charged with one count of producing child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Illinois. He has remained in custody since his September arrest.
In addition to the previous criminal charge, a lawsuit was also filed against Harris and three cheer organizations by the mother of twin boys in Texas for alleged sex crimes. It appears the victim in the September criminal case is one of the two victims from the civil case.
The first season of Cheer premiered in January on Netflix. Harris became a breakout star.
Harris’ lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.
