UPDATED: On Friday, another Glee castmember, Lea Michele, also had her verified account hacked with a fake tweet at 8:20 am that announced that she was pregnant. Michele’s publicist, Jill Fritzo, confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that the actress’ account was hacked.
A day earlier, Chris Colfer‘s manager told THR that the star’s verified Twitter account had been hacked and that the actor will indeed be back for the final season of the Fox musical, Glee, as he has a signed contract for season six. The actor’s publicist told THR that Colfer was on a mid-Atlantic flight without WiFi access and did not immediately available to update his Twitter account.
Studio 20th Century Fox Television also issued a statement confirming that Colfer will indeed be back for the final season. “We’ve been alerted that Chris Colfer’s Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.” The tweet has subsequently been deleted.
Colfer later confirmed with his own tweet that he was flying during the drama, writing that he had missed an interesting day while aboard his flight.
Apparently I missed quite the INTERESTING day while aboard my flight. I’m just glad I wasn’t “killed by a fruit truck” again.

It was previously thought that Fox’s Glee would be without one of its original stars when it returns for its sixth and final season.
Colfer, who has been a regular since the series debuted, announced Thursday that he will not be coming back to the musical dramedy where he has played fan favorite Kurt Hummel for the past five seasons.

“Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of Glee. Explanations will come shortly,” he wrote on Twitter.
Glee was left off Fox’s fall schedule and will likely return midseason with its 22-episode final season order likely cut short. An exact return date and episode count have not yet been announced.
