Chris Hemsworth is proud of his new movie, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and told Ellen DeGeneres it’s something he wants his daughter to see.
The actor said it’s not a typical damsel-in-distress movie because his character is the one being rescued by powerful women. He said he’d like his daughter to see a story where women are in charge of their own destiny.
“They’re not waiting for the prince to rescue them; they can take over the world or lead armies and so on,” said Hemsworth. “There’s not enough of it, and there should be more.”
The actor’s daughter is 4 years old, and he also has twin boys who are 2. “My daughter is kind of envious of my boys at the moment,” said Hemsworth. “She came to me the other day and she was like, ‘You know, Papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have.’”

“I’m like, ‘What do you mean?'” recounted Hemsworth. “She said, ‘You know the things in between the legs that you have.'”
Hemsworth described how he hesitated as his brain tried to figure out how to handle the request. He said, “Girls have breasts.”
“I don’t want breasts!” replied his daughter. “She goes, ‘Like I really want one.’ I was like, ‘A penis?’ She was like, ‘I want a penis!'”
The father of three said he stuttered a bit and then said, “You know what, you can be whatever you want to be.”
“She goes ‘Thanks, Dad!’ Runs off to the playground and that was it,” said Hemsworth. “I’ll have to pick that conversation up in a few years’ time.”
