Two comedy greats are uniting on NBC.
Christopher Lloyd has joined the cast of the network’s Norman Lear comedy pilot Guess Who Died.
Based on Lear’s experience, the single-camera effort is a humorous and inspiring look at the shared joys and challenges we all experience at any stage of life.

Set in the Las Esperanzado Senior Community in Palm Springs, Guess Who Died centers on Murray (Hector Elizondo), a retired music executive who is positive and upbeat with sparkling eyes and a keen, sharp and wonderful sense of humor. Holland Taylor plays his sister-in-law, Patricia, a former American Airlines flight attendant who can be a little too proper at times, but she’s sharp as a tack with a great sense of humor.
Lloyd will play Mort, a crusty and grumpy guy who is puttering along slowly in his golf cart at Las Esperanzado. He’s a man of mystery and wealth. The actor joins a cast that also includes Adrian Martinez and Beth Lacke.
Guess Who Died is Lloyd’s first TV series-regular role since 2005’s Stacked. His credits include Taxi and Cyberchase. He most recently has guest starred on series including The Big Bang Theory and 12 Monkeys. Lloyd is repped by Gersh.
Lear and Peter Tolan co-wrote the pilot for Guess Who Died, which has been a longtime passion project for the former. They will executive produce alongside Brent Miller. The project hails from Sony Pictures Television Studios, the Cloudland Co. and Act III Productions.
