ABC’s annual CMA Fest broadcast didn’t draw as big an audience Wednesday as it did in 2017.
The three-hour concert special fell 25 percent year-to-year in adults 18-49, averaging a 0.9 rating Wednesday night. (The 2017 show, which aired a week later, came in at 1.2.) CMA Fest was also off about 17 percent in total viewers: 4.72 million compared with 5.71 million a year ago.
CBS’ Big Brother maintained its status as the top show Wednesday with a 1.5, even with last week. NBC’s World of Dance was also steady at 1.1. Reverie closed out its season with a 0.4, pending updates, in line with its season average.
Masterchef improved a tick to 1.0 for Fox, and 24 Hours to Hell & Back was even with its last outing at 0.9. On The CW, Burden of Truth dipped to 0.1 as it moved up to the night’s lead-off position after following The Originals the past couple weeks.
Fox led the network race with a 1.0 in the 18-49 demo. ABC and NBC tied for second at 0.9, and CBS was right behind at 0.8. The CW managed just a 0.1 in primetime.
CMA Fest did give Jimmy Kimmel Live! a bit of a bump in late night. JKL led the metered-market ratings in the demo at 0.5, while The Late Show and The Tonight Show tied at 0.4 at 11:35 p.m. As usual, The Late Show finished first in metered-market households.
At 12:35 a.m., Late Night‘s 0.3 for adults 18-49 beat out 0.2s for The Late Late Show and Nightline.
