All eyes may be on the Republicans as they prepare to go head-to-head in the first debate of the 2016 presidential election, but the considerably smaller pool of Democratic hopefuls will soon face off as well.
CNN announced plans for the first Democratic primary debate on Thursday morning. The cable news network will presumably host Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley and other declared candidates. The debate, which will take place in Nevada, is set for Oct. 13 and will exclusively air on the network. CNN’s first debate sees the Republican candidates gather on Sept. 16 at California’s Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
The political circus officially kicks off on Thursday night. Fox News Channel will air the first of the GOP primary debates from Ohio — with a whopping 10 candidates taking the stage. The lineup includes Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, Chris Christie and John Kasich.
