CNN announced Friday that the network will host a three-hour special on Monday, March 21, in which the five remaining presidential candidates from both major parties will be interviewed individually.
Republican candidates Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, as well as Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton each will be interviewed by the hosts in the CNN Election Center in Washington, D.C., according to the network. Bernie Sanders will be interviewed from the campaign trail.
Presently, Trump and Clinton are the frontrunners for their respective parties’ nominations.
Fox News initially had set a Republican debate for the same night, but canceled the Salt Lake City event after Trump, and subsequently Kasich, planned to skip the event. Trump instead will be speaking at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
His portion of the CNN special will be taped earlier in the day, Hope Hicks, Trump’s campaign spokeswoman, tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Fox News will air a special report with Bret Baier, who will have one-on-one interviews with Kasich and Cruz. Additionally, Fox News’ Hannity will present an hourlong special with Trump on immigration in Arizona.
Megyn Kelly then will interview Cruz on The Kelly File following his remarks at AIPAC.
Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer will host the CNN special, which is slated to begin at 5 p.m. PT, according to the network.
The event occurs on the eve of “Western Tuesday,” which is when the primary elections happen in Arizona, Utah and Idaho.
