Colin Donnell (Arrow, The Affair) has joined the Chicago Fire spinoff as a new series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
It is still unclear who Donnell will be playing since he did not appear in the backdoor pilot for the new series, which aired as an April episode of Chicago Fire. Donnell joins previously cast series regulars Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya DaCosta.

The series is being billed as an emotional thrill ride through the day-to-day chaos of the city’s most explosive hospital and the courageous team of doctors who hold it together. Tackling unique new cases inspired by topical events, they forge fiery relationships in the pulse-pounding pandemonium of the emergency room, and through it all, will welcome familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments.
Like several other Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. cast members, Donnell most recently appeared in an NBC pilot, Love Is a Four Letter Word.
When a large chunk of the original Chicago P.D. cast from its backdoor pilot was replaced in 2013, Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer and Patrick John Flueger were all plucked from NBC’s Hatfields & McCoys pilot. Last season, Kara Killmer joined Chicago Fire as a new paramedic shortly after appearing in the drama pilot Tin Man.
