After being picked up and then dropped by FOX, the Locke & Key pilot isn’t quite dead yet. It will be screening at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 22.
In an apparent effort to drum up some interest for the TV adaptation of IDW Publishing’s comic book series after FOX announced that it was dropping the series last month, the pilot will be screened and several members of the creative team will take part in a panel discussion.
Since 2010, the series has gone through several reincarnations and has attracted very high-placed talent to the project, including Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks SKG, and Star Trek producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
Here’s the information from San Diego Comic-Con:
Locke & Key Fox Pilot Screening
The most talked-about pilot not on the Fall schedule was the Fox production of Locke & Key. This one-time-only screening of the entire pilot will show you just what a void there will be on your TVs this fall. Come watch the special filmed adaptation of “Welcome to Lovecraft” and see the Eisner-nominated comic brought to life.
